Donovan Holden, (1954-present) made his album debut with An Ordinary Thing. Born in Zanesville, Ohio and raised in Palm Beach County, Florida, Donovan has resided in Los Angeles for more than 30 years. He presently lives in the Silver Lake/Echo Park area with his husband, writer/ actor, Joel Craig ( Welcome to Nursing Hell-o, Journey to Gaytopia). Influences include Thelonius Monk, Billie Holiday, Billy Strayhorn,Lennon and McCartney, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Miles Davis, the Rolling Stones, Motown, Brian Wilson, Velvet Underground, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, Sly and the Family Stone, the Allman Bros., Muddy Waters/Chess Records, Weather Report, John McLaughlin, Prince, Randy Newman, and Rufus Wainwright.
